Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams is inviting the public to join a tribute to the victims of the Orlando nightclub massacre. Nearly 300 yards of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple fabric have been stretched out outside Brooklyn Borough Hall, on both the Joralemon Street and Borough Hall Plaza sides, for the public to write messages of hope and solidarity. The office will be out collecting messages on the fabric until they are filled, upon which time Borough President Adams will wrap Brooklyn Borough Hall in the fabric as a dynamic memorial to those lost, which includes two Brooklynites. Later, he will share the messages with the families of the victims as well as members of our greater LGBT community.
We hope you can come out and join us in signing a message on this living memorial, as well as share the word with LID.
