LID supports censure resolution in response to Trump's latest commentary

Lambda Independent Democrats condemns, in the strongest terms, President Donald Trump’s recent use of profanity to describe Haiti and African nations. As proud Brooklynites, here we stand united with our borough’s diverse leaders and citizens, many of whom have strong familial and cultural ties to these nations. We support the resolution introduced by our friend, Rep. Jerrold Nadler,  which censures and condemns the President for making these inappropriate and racist comments. We call on all members of the Brooklyn delegation to support this resolution.

“It is time for all members of Congress to make a statement against hatred and bigotry,” said LID Co-President Scott Klein. “Now is the time."

April General Meeting

What to do about the IDC?

The Independent Democrats in the NY State Senate have stopped bill after progressive bill from moving forward in Albany. At a time when many are relying on NY State to protect civil rights and provide affordable healthcare - how do we ensure that our legislators are listening to us and not partnering with Senate Republicans to stymie progress?
